dreamm ltd, 0845 0090 372NewsHappy 90th Birthday ORCCThe Oxfordshire Rural Community Council is celebrating its 90th birthday with a new webiste, amongst a host of other exiciting activities. dreamm were ecstatic to win the pitch for the redesign and development of the ORCC's website. One of the main drivers for the project was that the ORCC should be able to easily maintain and manage their own website, without needing to pay an agency for every change that they might require in the future. The ORCC also didn't want to compromise design over functionality! Using waxa, dreamm's content management system, we were able to deliver a refreshed and vibrant website, which was clean, approachable and easy to use whilst also allowing all members of the ORCC to edit and / or publish content onto the website.
In fact, we haven't given the ORCC one days worth of training on waxa - they haven't needed it. Equipped with the getting started manual the ORCC have been busy working on the site adding in feature stories, indexes of community websites and updating available publications and staff profiles. As Anton Nath, Community Development Worker at the ORCC says "waxa is so simple that even my boss can use it!". An added benefit of waxa is that it allows the ORCC to create news, blogs and events and 'tag' them with categories that they can create and manage. These items can then dynamically appear on relevant pages of content, e.g. affordable housing events will appear on the affordable housing page, etc. Using waxa the ORCC can provide mini-biographies about story authors; allow comments boxes to appear on selected pages and also change the banner images used through the site. All of this with no programming skills. Archive
